Background & Context

Goldman Plumbing Services delivered the design-and-construct installation of the hot & warm water and pool/spa heating systems for the Amara Residences independent living development. As subcontractor to the main contractor, Goldman installed, tested and commissioned three heat-pump tempered hot-water systems, a high-temperature supply to the commercial kitchen and laundry, and the pool & spa heating, achieving practical completion.

The Engineering Challenge

Scope of works included: Supply, install, test and commission three heat-pump tempered (50 °C) hot-water systems to the apartments; Install a dedicated 60 °C high-temperature supply to the kitchen and laundry; Install a pool & spa heat-transfer system; Pipework and reticulation; control panels; Lifting and positioning of storage tanks to the rooftop plant; Testing, commissioning and O&M handover.

Services provided: Design & construct delivery; heat-pump and tank installation; hydraulic & plumbing reticulation; electrical & controls installation; testing & commissioning; O&M manuals and warranties.

Structured Delivery Approach

Key systems and technologies: Heat-pump hot-water systems (15 kW and 50 kW units) across three systems; Custom PLC/HMI control panels; UV sanitisation; Hot-water storage tanks with backup immersion elements; Grundfos pumps; Pool & spa heat-transfer system.
