Background & Context

Goldman Plumbing Services delivered the on-site installation of the dedicated pool and spa heat-pump system at the Stawell Sports & Aquatic Centre. As the licensed contractor, Goldman installed the heat pumps, the UPVC pipework and insulation and the electrical works, integrated the new plant with the existing services while retaining the gas boilers for backup, and carried out the pressure testing, site testing and commissioning.

The Engineering Challenge

Scope of works included: Supply and installation of dedicated pool and spa heat pumps with vibration isolation; Hydraulic and mechanical works in UPVC pipework with 25 mm insulation, valves, strainers and fittings; Electrical installation — dedicated distribution board, circuit breakers, local isolators, fire-rated cabling and submains; Installation of control hardware and field sensors; Integration with existing plant, retaining the gas boilers for backup and peak load; Pressure testing, flushing, site testing, commissioning and operator handover.

Services provided: Heat-pump installation; hydraulic & mechanical plumbing (UPVC); electrical installation; system integration; testing & commissioning; operator handover.

Structured Delivery Approach

Key systems and technologies: 2 × pool inverter heat pumps (100 kW class) and 2 × spa inverter heat pumps (50 kW class); UPVC pipework with 25 mm insulation; Dedicated distribution board and fire-rated submains; Weintek HMI + CODESYS control hardware; Schneider PM5350 power meter; Modbus & BACnet field integration.

Final Handover & Results

A clean, efficient site installation that removes redundant plant and pipework and delivers lower-emission electric heating with minimal disruption; the system is fully tested and commissioned for the Council.
