Background & Context

Goldman Plumbing Services installed the centralised solar and condensing-gas warm & hot water plant at Thompson Health Care's Oran Park aged-care facility. Goldman installed the boilers, solar collectors, storage heat exchangers, pumps and copper pipework, and connected and lagged the plant ready for commissioning.

The Engineering Challenge

Scope of works included: Installation of three 100 kW condensing gas boilers and a common flue; Installation of storage heat exchangers; Installation of evacuated solar thermal collectors on pitching frames; Warm / hot return and solar pumps; Copper pipework and cold / warm / hot / gas connections; thermal lagging; Control-panel electrical installation.

Services provided: Mechanical & hydraulic installation; gas & water connections; solar collector installation; electrical / controls installation; pipework lagging.

Structured Delivery Approach

Key systems and technologies: 3 × 100 kW condensing gas boilers; Warm-water & hot-water storage heat exchangers; evacuated solar thermal collectors; UV disinfection; Grundfos pumps; custom control panel.

Final Handover & Results

A fully installed, solar-boosted centralised warm-water plant ready for commissioning, delivering hygienic tempered water across a multi-storey aged-care facility.
